So, what is the Q and A this week?
Let us find out...

Q: How do you turn down a review request?

A:
Oh man, I almost didn't do this one this week because I am hugely embarrassed
about the fact that unwanted review requests usually go into a folder of doom.
This is where my email goes to be "sorted out later".
I always mean to try to write them, but find myself avoiding it because I hate hurting
peoples feelings. I mean how do you do it? Guess I could just email back something
to the point such as: Not interested or Not my style but thanks anyways!
Is it worse to write back a reason why you don't even want to
attempt to read their hard work or to just not respond?
Now I will feel guilty and go through that folder...

Bad blogger!

  1. It's a no win situation. I have tried it both ways, responding and not responding and I've been on the other end of a blogger responding and not responding at all. I think since you were broached you are free to respond whatever way you want without guilt.

  2. Unless you already have a relationship with the person who requested the review, why feel guilty? You can't read everything; if you wanted the book, you'd respond promptly. Do you feel bad hanging up on telephone solicitors?

  3. It is difficult, but it can be done graciously.
