It's a great way to find new blogs!
Q: What book did you hate that everyone raved about?
Or what book did you love wasn't popular?
A: I don't like The Hobbit or all the Lord of the Rings.
I can't stand to read those. Please don't hate me.
I hate the movies too.
Very long story....
The features this week are Elemillia from Gone Bookserk from Parajunkee and

I never read those. =)))) They never appealed to me, for some reason.

I don't like those books either. I still can't understand all the hype.

I have no real desire to read the books either, they sound overly long and annoying.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I very much enjoyed the films, and will quite happily burn the haters at the stake.
Awww, I love J.R.R. Tolkien's works! But I understand - the books are somewhat difficult to read. The movies are amazing though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Old follower :)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
....I love the movies so much. Nothing better than having a LOTR day and watching all the extended editions in a marathon lol
ReplyDeleteI've read The Hobbit, but not LOTR yet.
I'm following you back now :)

Thanks for stopping by. I will grudgingly admit that The Lord of the Rings is very long, and very dry in places, but we wouldn't have the epic fantasies we have today if Tolkien hadn't been such a success.

I am with you! I found them boring and not my thing. New follower.
ReplyDeleteChelsea @ Starbucks & Books Obsession
I never read them but I love love the movies! I think sometime I might still give the books a chance ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I am now also following you :)
Florentine @ Readiculously Peachy
I actually love both of those, but you have to be into fantasy or you probably won't. :D Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI could never finish the Hobbit! I totally agree.

I know they're not to everyone's taste, but I'm one that loved LOTR & the Hobbit. I fell in love with them in 5th Grade when our teacher read the Hobbit to us over a period of several weeks. It didn't hurt that my dad read fantasy books so they were all over the house for me to pick up either :) Thanks for stopping by this week Think! Old follower.

I totally agree with you! Too long. Thanks for coming by My FF

I read The Hobbit for school and barely finished it. I was so close to just reading the summaries off of Spark Notes. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fantasy lover, but stories like those just don't interest me. :P

Daphne @ Reading Until Dawn
Hopping through. I haven't been able to finish LOTR. I like the books, but haven't gotten hooked on them.
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
It took me almost 2 months to get through the Fellowship of the Ring and I never read the rest.

I have not read one of those books, I just can't bring myself to bite into that elephant. Thanks for stopping by
ReplyDeleteYou even hated the movies?!? :) Yeah, LotR and the Hobbit definitely make for dry reading.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Enjoy your weekend!
LOL I love the please don't hate me. I have read the books, but I enjoyed the movies more. Sounds like you didn't like either :D I won't hold it against you hehe. Thank you so much for stopping by my FF. Old follower :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven

ReplyDeleteI actually love Tolkien... he's a world builder though... he writes in depth about the world the characters live in, and I often find a lot of YA readers don't care much for that level of world building. There is only so much a person can take XD

Total nerd and fantasy was my first love, quickly followed by sci-fi/fantasy. Like I said nerd. So LOTR was huge for me. But hey, yay books!
