I basically downloaded this because it was free. I liked it,
but I didn't love it. I know nothing about the Chaos Walking set of books. I
will have to check those out to see how the story evolves. I do know that I
sincerely felt awful for the character of Viola. The circumstances of the
landing are heartbreaking. And I wish, of course, that the story were longer.
But, guess that is why it is called a "short story". LoL.
Overall, I
give this short story 3 stars because it did interest me in perhaps pursuing this series.
If anyone has read the Chaos Walking books, please let me know if you loved/hated it.

I read The Knife of Never Letting Go. I thought the start was brilliant, but I didn't enjoy the ending. There was one death in particular - I won't mention who it was - that really annoyed me. I also found the pace unrelenting. It was an exhausting read! haven't read on into the series.
