Hello all!
I am so super excited to be a
Featured Blogger!
This meme is hosted by
Thank you so much for featuring me!
Here are some questions I answered for the hosts!
When did you start blogging?
A friend of mine introduced me to Goodreads
and that is how my book blogging madness began.
My first post was January 25, 2012, over 2 years ago!
It was a review of Clockwork Prince.
I remember being so nervous about my first post
and rewriting my review half a dozen times.
What is your favorite part of book blogging?
Well, of course, there are the books I get to read!
More than that though, are all of the great people
I have met through blogging. It's really amazing
to be a part of a community with such a passion for reading!
What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Most of the books I end up reviewing
are YA Dystopian, since that's my fave genre.
However, I like reading fantasy and scifi and sometimes contemporary.
What is your favorite book(s)?
Oh wow! This is such a hard question...
I love anything by Neil Gaiman, particularly Stardust.
Of course, The Mortal Instruments series or
anything by Cassandra Clare!
Also, books by Lauren Oliver, Suzanne Collins...and so many more!
What has been the best thing that has happened to you because of book blogging?
I have met amazing bloggers and authors and been able to do things
I never thought I could do.
I once won a Kindle Fire.
I participated in a Blast that entered everyone into a drawing.
OMG! I flipped when I got the e-mail.
Honestly though, the best thing is that I have proven to myself I can stick with something!
Question this Week:
How important is good writing to you? In an ideal world, a book would be beautifully written AND have great character development, plot, etc. But in the real world, which do you prefer: (1) Great characters and plot with lousy writing or (2) Middling character development and plot but gorgeous writing
Answer:
Good writing is of the utmost importance to me. I have read some books that had awesome characters but the writing was horrendous. It absolutely ruined the book for me. I think Character Development and Plot is in integral part of "good" writing, so it's hard to answer this question! I guess if I HAD to pick one, it would be gorgeous writing.

Congratulations on your FF feature! I agree with you on the needing to have solid writing to enjoy a book. Have a great weekend.

DeleteI'm the other featured blogger this week, so I thought I would stop by and see what you had to say! :) I agree with you and basically said the same thing. Gorgeous writing is more important if I had to pick one. Love your blog design/colors! :) Nice to "meet" you.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you too!
DeleteCongrats on your feature! I prefer great characters and plot.

DeleteWell done on being the feature!
ReplyDeleteI tend to prefer great characters and plot and I guess that's what makes this question so interesting is that every reader has different expectations.

ReplyDeleteI can see where your coming from and sometimes it helps but I guess I prefer more plot and character to how it's written. :) Have a great weekend!!

Thanks so much Diane!
DeleteCongrats on the feature! I'm on the character and plot side. If the writing is epic, that's a nice bonus, but I love having a connection with the characters. Getting lost in a story is the main reason I read :)
ReplyDeleteNew bloglovin' follower. Have a great weekend!

This was a really difficult question to answer because it's all important to us as readers. I think if I didn't care about the characters, I wouldn't care to read the book. Congratulations on your feature!! I'm really happy for you!! :D
ReplyDeleteMy FF @ Donnie Darko Girl
Oh, I do need to love the characters too. That's why this question is truly difficult like you said! lol
