Think Out Loud #30: WAKE UP HUMANS

Hello all and Welcome to the 30th
Think Out Loud!!!
Thank you for taking the time to check it out.
A weekly meme I created for bloggers
to be able to post about something
besides their "usual" stuff.
A pic, a rant, a recipe, a video, ANYTHING!
Just create something and then link your post
to the linky I will provide at the bottom of this post!
Full Think Out Loud information HERE!

I started reading Shadowhunters and Downworlders,
a collection of essays based on The Mortal Instruments
series by Cassandra Clare.
The first essay, Unhomely Places is by Kate Milford.
She addresses the feelings of
learning to look at things in your world differently.
Like how Clary had to learn to remove glamours
so she could see faeries, warlocks, and all of her Shadowhunter pals.

So, I was thinking of that essay.
Then, I saw this picture and was all HELL YES!
This is totally the feeling I got from that essay.

There is always more to see than perhaps
our little brains can handle.
Disillusionment is rampant.
It can also be terrifying or addictive or both.
What is true?

Question to the Audience:
What do you think?
Do you believe only in what you see and "know"to be real?
Do you believe that there is way more out there?
Please share your thoughts!!

  1. The image is pretty amazing and I had no idea there was an essay book about The Mortal Instruments (I haven't read the series).

For me, reality is based on what I know and feel/believe so it's biased towards my perspective of reality. It is hard to think in a different way because it challenges our reality and what we hold dear. However, I think that in order to self-better ourselves, we do need to have an outside perspective and if reading an essay or books make us do that, then that is awesome.
