Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare
Dates Read: December 17, 2011 to January 6, 2012
502 pages; published Dec. 6, 2011

Clockwork Prince is the second book in the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare. It continues the story of Tessa, a shapeshifter of unknown origins. She has been given safe haven at the Institute with the Shadowhunters protection. These Shadowhunters include Will and Jem, two young men that Tessa struggles to choose between. Will is mysterious and dark. Jem is a silver light of kindness. As if this wasn’t enough, Tessa and the Shadowhunters are in a race against time to find the Magister. The Magister is hell-bent on destroying the Shadowhunters and taking Tessa as is bride for a reason unknown.

As always, Clare has written exquisitely. I am so caught up in the world she created that having to wait another year for “Clockwork Princess” is going to drive me insane. All of her books that I have read leave me wanting more, but this is about 10x more intense. I believe the “Clockwork Prince” is her absolute best book to date. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. So, I am just going to say to anyone that read this book/liked it/is waiting on next impatiently that I feel your pain. This was a wonderful first book to start off 2012!

  1. I had started reading this book and only got like 150 pages in before I had to stop and read other books for authors and such...would you say the endings good?

  2. I have read the mortal instruments series that she wrote but, I haven't picked up this series yet, but it is in my TBR pile lol. If you haven't read mortal instruments and you like this series I bet you would like it. Great Review!
